A market with significant growth potential
The Harris Interactive study: Les Français et l'achat de produits de santé sur Internet published in February 2015 (Source: Harris Interactive) has shown that 44% of French people are willing to buy drugs over the Internet, while only 62% say they are aware that pharmacies can sell non-prescription drugs online. These figures should be compared with the 59% of Internet users who have already bought online, according to the FEVAD study (Source : FEVAD Key figures 2014 study).
How do you deal with consumer objections?
These figures show that there is still great potential for growth in the online sale of non-prescription medicines, but what are consumers' objections? Harris Interactive has identified the main obstacles to online drug purchases for the French, which are the quality and provenance of medicines. On the other hand, the main motivations are price and ease of access. Online pharmacies therefore have a reassuring role to play in showing Internet users that they benefit from the same level of service and the same products as in a pharmacy.
